Veteran swingman Mike Miller is nearing the end of his career. When he was traded away from the Cleveland Cavaliers and his longtime friend LeBron James in the summer, it was viewed as a move that would help the Cavaliers clear up some cap space but more importantly create a trade exception.
Miller, along with Brendan Haywood, was sent to the Portland Trail Blazers and now both have been waived by the team. With Miller clearing waivers, it made room for the vet to sign potentially his last career deal with the Denver Nuggets.

It’s kind of head scratching for both sides. Mike Miller should want to play for an NBA team, a possible contender and make one last run at a title. Maybe even go back to the Cavs on an even smaller deal but that just wasn’t in the cards for Mike.
While the Nuggets lack depth on the perimeter as well as knockdown shooting, which Miller brings, the move for them doesn’t make sense. They’re a team who will be lucky to even fight for the eighth spot in the Western Conference so for them too make a move like this for a 35 year-old, 15 year NBA veteran is confusing but it could help with the developing some of their younger talents.
