The Denver Nuggets are actively shopping guard Arron Afflalo.
According to Ramona Shellburne of ESPN, Denver has spoken to the Blazers, Bulls, Heat, Clippers, and Kings about a deal for Afflalo. Shellburne also says that so far Denver’s asking price has been too high for any deal to actually go through, as the Nuggets apparently are seeking a first round pick for the eight year man from UCLA.
Afflalo is owed $7.8 million for this season and has a player option that he will most likely excercise. That maybe hard for contending teams to cater too, as well as Denver’s apparent high asking price.
Still, he would be a great addition for any team looking to make a playoff push. Afflalo is averaging 14.5 points per game on 43% shooting from the field in 33 minutes.
The Nuggets traded center Timofey Mozgov last month to the Cavaliers and got two first round picks in return, so I guess if they can get that sweet of a deal for a player like Mozgov, they should be able to get even more for a player like Afflalo, or at least that’s their thinking.
