The Denver Nuggets are a really confusing team. They have this urge to blow up the team, and continuously claim they are looking to trade all their players, but nothing happens. They have wanted to get rid of Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, Ty Lawson and Danilo Gallinari, which is the core of this group, for a while, but haven’t found the right suitors. They drafted Emmanuel Mudiay 7th overall, which means Lawson is likely on his way out, but what about the others? Chandler recently got an extension with the Nuggets. Is it Gallinari’s turn?
According to Christopher Dempsey of The Denver Post:
they’d like to open talks on an extension for Danilo Gallinari as well, according to a league source.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to extend Gallinari’s contract and see what he has to offer. He’s been belittled by injuries as of late and hasn’t been able to produce nearly as well as he can. As for the rest of the core of the Nuggets? It’s still unknown, but Lawson is receiving interest from a couple different teams and any team would love to have Kenneth Faried. Nuggets players hold value in them, what are the Nuggets waiting for? Pull the trigger!
