The Denver Nuggets were actually quite stacked at the center position at one point. Timofey Mozgov and Rookie Jusuf Nurkic, that’s a pretty good 1-2 punch down in the paint. But then Mozgov went to Cleveland, leaving Nurkic to try and get it done.
Unfortunately, he got injured and to this day he’s still recovering after knee surgery and won’t be in Europe to play for his native Bosnia & Herzegovina.
The Nuggets can’t pinpoint when he’ll be back, but there is a possibility that he’ll be ready for the start of the 2015-16 season.
One Nuggets player missing out on (EuroBasket) is center Jusuf Nurkic. The big man was set to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but knee surgery in late spring put an end to that. Nurkic has been rehabbing the knee in Denver with hopes of being ready when the season starts or soon thereafter.
As a Rookie, Nurkic was solid. Being seen on the defensive side statistically scared opponents, I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t improve much on the offensive end due to spending the summer recovering but it’s not like the Nuggets are Playoff contenders anyway. He can use actual games as his training for future seasons.
