With a 19 point lead at the half you would expect a team to almost be guaranteed for a win. On this night though, the Utah Jazz wouldn’t let the Denver Nuggets just run away with the game. They came back in the third and also had it tied late in the fourth before a big shot from Ty Lawson, 2 free throws drained by Darrell Arthur and a big Timofey Mozgov block secured the Nuggets 103-101 win over the Jazz.
The Nuggets had 7 players score in double figures including all 5 starters lead by Wilson Chandler and Ty Lawson. Lawson and Chandler had 15 points each with Lawson getting 12 assists to go along with his points total, and he is now fourth all-time on the Nuggets career assists list. Aaron Afflalo had 14 points, Kenneth Faried had 11 points with 5 rebounds and Timofey Mozgov had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Darrell Arthur had 12 points, 10 in the first half and J.J. Hickson had 10 points and 8 rebounds, both players coming off the bench.
Gordon Hayward lead the way for the Jazz who were without young up and coming star Derrick Favors who had flu like symptoms. Hayward had 25 points with 5 rebounds and Favors replacement in the lineup, Trevor Booker, had 6 points and 9 rebounds. Trey Burke had 18 points with 8 assists and his partner in the back court, Alec Burks, had 22 points with 8 rebounds. Enes Kanter had 17 points with 15 rebounds.
Denver Nuggets are 9-8. Utah Jazz are 5-13.
