Notre Dame has dismissed four starters from their football team amidst an investigation of academic fraud. The players are receiver DaVaris Daniels, defensive back KeiVarae Russell, defensive lineman Ishaq Williams and linebacker Kendall Moore. As of now, everything is preliminary and all of the details haven’t been brought to light. This isn’t the first time the Fighting Irish have dealt with academic issues amongst their football players. It was only a year ago Everett Golson was suspended all of last season due to an honor code violation.
Let’s be real: how many of these athletes aren’t cheating nowadays? It’s a sad truth, but some student-athletes will do whatever they can to remain eligible and still commit to the grueling schedule sports requires.
