NLE Choppa releases debut ep Cottonwood featuring Blueface.
The Memphis rapper is ready to move on from viral hits to serious projects. At only 17-years-old, NLE Choppa’s breakthrough track Shotta Flow gained him a wider fan-base. Blueface hopped on the Shotta Flow Remix featured on the Cottonwood EP. Blueface and NLE Choppa also linked-up on Blueface’s upcoming project Find The Beat on a track listed as Holy Moly.
With 9-tracks, Cottonwood gives NLE Choppa the space to cement his unique rap-style. The EP’s name derives from his neighborhood in Memphis and NLE Choppa music draws from the classic southern-trap sound. During an interview with Complex, NLE Choppa shared every song on Cottonwood is a freestyled verse.
“I freestyle all my music. If I do a song with a chorus and a verse, it takes me about 25 minutes. If I do a song with two verses or stretch it out song, it takes me about 30 to 35 minutes.” says NLE Choppa.
