A murder that made the Hip-Hop industry stand still, Nipsey Hussle’s death was met with an outpour of love from old and new fans alike. In addition to a surge in streaming numbers, Nipsey Hussle’s Marathon Clothing brand saw a major increase in support. According to XXL, a member of Nipsey Hussle’s team confirmed the brand earned $10 million after the fatal shooting.
The brick and mortar store where branded merchandise was sold unfortunately doubles as the scene of the crime. Although it currently remains closed, the online shop handles the flood of orders and does not plan on closing anytime soon. XXL’s source states hoodies, hats, and t-shirts are among the most popular items.
Fans are not the only people spending money to in honor of the Grammy-nominated rapper. Close friends of his including YG, Meek Mill, Game and more have memorialized the fallen rapper with tattoos, chains, and cars. Nipsey Hussle’s legacy became archived in the U.S. Congressional Record.
