Despite being a well known commodity within rap for years now, 2018 has been a coming out party for Nipsey Hussle. Earlier this year, Nipsey released his newest body of work, Victory Lap. Featuring Diddy, Kendrick Lamar and many more, the album landed at number four on the Billboard 200 Charts in its first week. More importantly, the album received critical acclaim from those like Wayno of Everyday Struggle who named the project of the best in 2018 so far. Trent Clark of Hip-Hop DX wrote, “Victory Lap not only boosts Nipsey’s stock but it raises expectations for the next time he eyes a checkered flag. The benchmark for quality has been set and the race to officially hit the championship podium is only getting revved up.”

Despite all of the success that Nipsey Hussle has achieved over the past six months, he is still a native of Crenshaw and he is not to be played with. Earlier this afternoon, Nipsey Hussle was allegedly involved in an altercation involving a person working at the event. According to reports, Nipsey Hussle and his team were attempting to drive through an area that had been blocked off, so that they could get to a rehearsal on time. When someone stopped them a verbal back and forth took place, one thing led to another and Nipsey Hussle allegedly slapped the man that had stopped them from getting to rehearsal. Police immediately broke up the altercation and Nipsey got back into his car. There is no word on whether or not any legal action will come from this. In the meantime, you can watch video of the whole interaction above.
