Nikola Pekovic is officially out for the remainder of the season. This shouldn’t be a shock to anyone, given that the Serbian center hasn’t played a game since March 11.
The Minnesota Timberwolves‘ center has a history of ankle issues, and his sore ankles are once again the problem this season.
On Monday, head coach Flip Saunders confirmed that Pekovic will miss the rest of the season

While Nikola Pekovic is a very solid center, the Timberwolves have no need for him at this point in the season. Gorgui Dieng is the center of the future for this team, and as an inexperienced player, he will keep improving. Furthermore, with the season winding down and the T-Wolves nowhere near the playoffs, they can afford to rest players given that the depth of the team isn’t really an issue.
