Nikki Jayy has teamed up with Projectbryce and Kojo for her latest single, “Shanghai.” Backed by euphoric harp loop, Nikki Jayy’s seductive vocals float weave in and out of different flows and cadences.
“Come let me show you/Can’t nobody bring me down,” she sings.
“We can’t go for a quick ride/Backseat vibes/Make memories all night.”
The rising star comes out Howard University by way of Mount Vernon, New York. Whether it’s the discography of Sean “Diddy” Combs or the filmography of the late Chadwick Boseman, the historically Black university continues to produce stars. While Nikki Jayy is still extremely early in her career, she is slowly building up her discography and is aiming to be a name that everyone knows.
From the confidence she displayed on “Act Different” to the vulnerability she showcased on “Soul Cries,” the New York native has proven to be a well-rounded voice in an increasingly crowded field of young artists. “Shanghai” is the latest example of how Nikki Jayy is working to stand out and put people on to her unique sound.
