Nicolas Batum (left knee contusion, right wrist) is questionable to play tonight. Batum did not practice Thursday night, when the team went through a brief workout at the AT&T Center, and has been listed as questionable for tonights game against the San Antonio Spurs. His availability will be determined if Batum tests his ailing body during the Blazers pregame warm-up. Batum was fell hard after a hard push from Bucks forward, Larry Sanders on Wednesday night finishing a dunk. After reviewing the play on Thursday, the NBA accessed Sanders a Flagrant 2 foul and suspended him for a game.
Here’s the video:
“My head is better. I landed on my face, but I’m OK. My left knee, my right wrist are the most painful spots,” Batum said when asked how he was feeling.
Batum’s luck hasn’t been so kind to him this season, who also missed four games in November with a right knee injury. He has averaged 8.8 points, 5.2 assists and 5.6 rebounds and is shooting a career-low 37 percent from the field, including 23 percent from three-point range.
The Blazers will open a four-games-in-five-nights trip to meet with the Spurs for the second time this season after winning their last matchup, 108-95. The Blazers will be without their center Robin Lopez who continues to be out with a fractured right hand and is expected to miss the next 6 weeks. Watch the Blazers take on the Spurs at 8:00 on ESPN.
