The Toronto Raptors are slowly becoming a free agent destination for NBA players. A winning culture and Drake have made it a place that can be the ultimate NBA city for some players. DeMarre Carroll signing and Kyle Lowry signing last year were a clear indication that this franchise is going in the right direction. Today, rumors spread that former Blazers Forward and new Hornet Nicolas Batum wanted to play for the Raptors. According to Nicolas Batum himself, it’s a false accusation.

This doesn’t mean that Batum doesn’t want to play in Toronto, but his agent probably called him and told him to deny it ASAP. It’s not good publicity. Batum will be a UFA next year and has the option to go anywhere. Unless Toronto wants him now and is willing to trade a package of Terrence Ross and picks, Batum will be available to them next year. He will go where the money is largest.
