Nickelodeon is reviving one of its popular series for a new audience.
The network announced a revival of Double Dare. This popular 90’s game show will return with a 40 episode run later this summer.
The series sees two teams competing to win various prizes in a mix of messy physical challenges and trivia questions every episode. The revival will bring back signatures of the competition’s original run. This includes the human hamster wheel, the gigantic mouth, the wringer and the ‘Double Dare’ nose. Several guests from the original run will also return but it’s unknown who they will be.
The longest-running of Nickelodeon’s game shows, Double Dare originally aired in 1986 and ran through 1993. In 2016, Nickelodeon celebrated the series’ 30th anniversary with a special episode and a live episode filmed a San Diego Comic Con with original host Mark Summers returning to host.
No host or guests have officially been announced for the revival series.
