Nickelodeon has announced that they are working on a Spongebob Squarepants prequel series. The thirteen episode order, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, will feature a CG animated ten year old Spongebob. In addition to bringing back Spongebob Squarepants, the network has also ordered another ten episodes of their All That reboot.
Along with All That and Spongebob Squarepants, Nickelodeon is launching new series from Tyler Perry Studios and Imagine Entertainment. Imagine Entertainment’s The Astronauts follows a group of kids who are accidentally launched into space. It will premiere this summer. Meanwhile, Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan will follow the life of a family who adds a young hip hop star to their household. The 14 episode run will begin later this month on the kid’s network.
Concluding its announcement, Nickelodeon announced that they would be renewing series such as The Casagrandes, Blue’s Clues & You, PAW Patrol, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Top Elf and Bubble Guppies. The series, Henry Danger, will also receive a spin-off series called Danger Force.
