The Los Angeles Lakers are looking slightly better for the future. Thinking about it. The Kobe contract thing was stupid, but it’s certainly not the be all and end all. They got Julius Randle coming back, potentially doing a Nerlens Noel. They got. A top 5 Draft Pick this season. And of course they have the city of LA and the Lakers history to utilize as a selling point.
Like it’s hard to plug living and playing in LA.
But in the short term. They’re still screwed. According to ESPN.com, Lakers’ Nick Young is out indefinitely with a fracture in his left knee cap.
It is expected that the fracture will heal on its own with rest and Young will make a complete recovery but it is not yet clear if he be able to play again this season.
Young has missed the last 11 games with a swollen left knee and has no played since the Lakers beat the Boston Celtics 118-111 on Feb. 22.
“Nothing,” Lakers coach Byron Scott said when asked what Young was able to do at practice. “He signed some autographs, went back in and got some treatment and that was about it.“
Byron Scott is very “to the point” with his interviews. He’s like Gregg Popovich but with actual information.
Young might as well call it for the season. Not as if they’re one game behind on the 8th seed.
