Nick Young has never been shy when receiving the ball. So when he offers to take more of the load so that Kobe can rest up; you better believe he’s ready for the challenge. Swaggy P is averaging 15 points per game, while shooting, a meh, 41% from the field and 43% from three. All while playing 25 minutes.
Kobe Bryant on the other hand is launching a painful 37% from the planet and a jarring 27% from beyond the arch. And at the ripe age of 36, Bryant is logging in an astounding 36 minutes per game.
“Hats off to (Bryant), still going out there every night and trying to do his best,” Young began before offering his solution. “Just give me the ball, and that’s what could happen. I’m always down to take over the load. Let me, let Wayne (Ellington) take a couple shots. But majority, just give me the ball.”
“(Bryant) still goes out there at night and tries to give his best. We need Kobe out there, and he knows it. But he don’t need to kill himself. That’s what I’m here for.”
Take heed Mr. Bryant and give up the rock. Let Lord Swagmore take the reigns and shoulder more of the responsibility, because #24’s body won’t last much longer considering we’ve only played a quarter of the season.
