
Following Ray Rice’s incident, the league office was met with tremendous strife concerning domestic violence. After some weeks of debate, the NFL is now implementing a six-game ban for the first incident of domestic violence and a lifetime ban for the second.
During this morning’s press conference Commissioner Goodell openly admit that he “didn’t get it right” in regard to Rice’s suspension. While maintaining that Rice’s punishment stayed consistent with former offenders, Goodell now states that “our policy is clear on this” and that “domestic violence is not acceptable in the NFL”
