The New York Jets are desperate to find a franchise quarterback this offseason. Earlier we found of that the Jets have their eyes on Mike Glennon during free agency. Now we found out that two more names were added to that list – Jay Cutler and Deshaun Watson.
The Jets hold the 6th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and are seriously considering pulling the trigger on Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. Jason Cole of Bleacher Report announced that the Jets will do extensive homework on the quarterback prospect. New York is also known to be very high on North Carolina’s Mitch Trubiskey as well.
In addition to the possibility of drafting a signal caller, the Jets are expected to pursue Jay Cutler once he is released by the Bears. Jason La Canfora from CBS Sports reported that Jeremy Bates, the Jets quarterback coach, is very fond of Cutler.
With Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg already on the roster, it appears the Jets will likely do one or the other. New York has $-7 million to work with in free agency as of now so Cutler may be a long shot.
