The X-Men face an ancient threat in Bryan Singer’s new Apocalypse installment, and what’s even more clear from this new trailer is that Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) is in part leading the X-Men in the war of their lives.
We don’t see too much in this new trailer that we haven’t seen or heard from the first one, but there are a few new nuggets and shots, including Quicksilver (Evan Peters) talking to his mom about joining the X-Men, as well as new looks at Ben Hardy as Archangel, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.
Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) recruits Archangel, Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) as his Four Horsemen to unleash destruction on the Earth. In a way, we’re seeing the rebirth of the X-Men, as Apocalypse follows the events of Days of Future Past, which essentially reset the timeline and made for a new thread of history.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27.
