Get ready to fork over some cash for the next-generation of Sony’s video game system, the PlayStation 4.
Kotaku has revealed some new details about the forthcoming video game console via an undisclosed source. While nothing is official, they say that the PS4 is expected to be out in the United States this November with a price tag of approximately $429 and $529. The controller is expected to have a touchpad in the center. On top of the standard gamepad peripheral, gamers will also be able to control the system with their mobile phones (similar to Microsoft’s SmartGlass service).
Also, the source mentions that Sony’s PlayStation Network will no longer be free for PS4 owners; they’re in the same boat that Xbox Live users have been in for years: they’ll have to pay a monthly fee to play games online.
Another feature revealed is the PlayStation Eye which will allow users to watch what their friends are doing on their systems.
The official announcement is expected to come tomorrow.
