Since its birth in 2004, Top Dawg Entertainment has grown from a local powerhouse to a household name. Led by its founder and CEO, Anthony “Top Dawg” Fifth, the label has managed to gather and develop acts such as SZA, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad and SiR just to name a few. Over the years, the label has sold more than four million records domestically and earned eight platinum album plaques. In 2018, the label has stepped up its game to an entirely new level. With Kendrick Lamar on the squad, the label has released the soundtrack to Black Panther, earned a Pulitzer Prize and gone on tour. Most recently, the label’s oldest member, Jay Rock, put out his newest album, Redemption.
Looking to continue its winning ways, T.D.E has signed a new artist by the name of Reason, who decided to celebrate his success with a new song called “The Soul”. Hailing from California, the rapper first made his splash on the big scene with an appearance on the T.D.E curated soundtrack for Black Panther. As one would expect, the newest T.D.E artist has bars and a conscious element to his style to match. However, don’t take our word for it. Check out Reason’s first track on T.D.E above.
