Thus far we’ve only seen quick action shots of encounters between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This is the first clip released that gives a little longer look at the two heroes going at it.
The clip clearly favors Superman, as the opening sequence shows him flying Batman way above a building and tossing him like a rag doll.
We hear the powerful line from Superman from the trailer, pleading Batman to “stay down”, essentially because he can’t win and Superman has no intention of killing him. Batman then uses a smoke grenade to distract Superman and relocate to take a shot. As I’m sure Batman knows, Superman is not only bulletproof but can also catch bullets, which is exactly what he did. The clip ends there maybe to not spoil what happens next, being that Batman might have even expected Superman to catch the bullet.
Even though we know Batman and Superman will make friendly and ultimately unite against common threats, the build up for this movie is still rooted in the epic battle between the two iconic heroes. This fight can realistically only end in a draw, but we still have to see it.
The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice showdown hits theaters on March 25.
