A trade is unlikely to see based on a huge drop in production over the past few years, so expect to see the number 8 jerseys still being worn in Barclays Center next season. Finding somebody willing to take on William’s contract for the next two seasons with all he is owed is nearly impossible, but could happen next season if the Nets give away a first-rounder or two.
Williams may have been left off a letter to fans, but all signs are now pointing towards his return to Brooklyn next season. As always, they will show a team capable of competing, but they will be the same Nets we have come and saw the past few years.
