The Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks have officially completed their trade centered around center Tyler Zeller, with both teams confirming the transaction via press releases on Monday.
Brooklyn sent Zeller to Milwaukee in exchange for young guard Rashad Vaughn and a 2018 second-round draft pick.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks will send the draft pick to Brooklyn if it falls between selections 31 and 47. If not, the pick will be sent to Phoenix as part of the team’s Eric Bledsoe trade from earlier in the season.
Zeller, 28, rejoins college teammate John Henson in Milwaukee where the pair will compete for frontcourt minutes. He averaged 7.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 16.7 minutes per game with Brooklyn.
Vaughn, 21, has gradually seen his role decrease with the Bucks the past two seasons. In 22 games, he held per-game averages of 2.7 points, 0.8 rebounds and 7.9 minutes on 37 percent shooting from 3-point range.
The Bucks continue to seek an upgrade in the frontcourt with the NBA’s annual trade deadline set to fall in two days. For Brooklyn, any combination of young players or future assets would appeal to them. DeMarre Carroll is said to be available for the right price, and has reportedly generated some interest.
