Bruce Reznick, AKA Mr. Whammy, has been a presence at Nets games for the past 18 years. The New Jersey native is known for standing in the aisle directly behind the basket and distracts opposing team free throw shooters when they are at the line.
In last nights Nets and Cavs game, Mr. Whammy apparently frustrated Lebron James so much, that the four-time MVP had security move Mr. Whammy.
The New York Daily News is reporting that a NBA official confirmed the Cavaliers requested security for Mr. Whammy return to his seat.
Mr. Whammy says he even had Nets CEO Brett Yormark come talk to him.
“He said, ‘Do me a favor, please move back so that NBA security doesn’t throw you out,” Reznick said. He would go on and say, “Lebron is a crybaby. I know it was him that asked the security to make me move. He doesn’t like that I make him miss. He thinks he’s more powerful than anyone in the NBA.”
After the game, Lebron was asked if he had anything to do with Mr. Whammy being moved, to which he replied, “next question.”
Mr. Whammy claims he is the best defense when it comes to other teams shooting free throws, and he makes a strong case with this story.
Mr. Whammy has been doing this for 18 years, and this is the first time anyone has ever “complained.” Come on Lebron, you’re the four-time MVP and you let a 79-year-old man get to you like that?
