“I told my agent [Aaron Mintz], Day 1, I wanted to go somewhere where I was definitely wanted, and Brooklyn showed that early,” Davis told the New York Post. “I know how this business works and how fast things work and I was comfortable with the decision.”
Davis, who’s entering his ninth NBA season this fall, averaged 5.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game with the Trail Blazers last year. He came off the bench in all 78 games, shooting 58 percent from the floor in roughly 19 minutes per contest.
“The main thing is (the Nets) definitely came out aggressive when July 1 hit,” Davis said, according to the New York Post. “I definitely wanted to go to where I was wanted, so that had a lot to do with it.
“Then, I talked to Allen [Crabbe] and Jeremy [Lin] about the coaching staff and how the organization was run, and it was nothing but great things. Then, this team has potential, definitely. We can try to make this push into the playoffs this year. It’s going to be a challenge, but that’s one of the reasons why I’m here.”
