Anthony Bennett will be joining his fourth team entering his fourth season in the NBA. The former number one overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft will be staying in the Atlantic Division after being waived by the Toronto Raptors earlier this year.
Bennett will join the Brooklyn Nets and Randy Foye will also be headed to New York. Foye is coming off a reserve role with the Oklahoma City Thunder for half of last season and the playoffs. They will both play on the Nets on short term deals.

For Foye, joining the Nets could mean an increased role for him, a far cry from what he did last year in Oklahoma City. If he is not the starting two guard, expect him to be the reserve combo guard relieving Jeremy Lin and Bogan Bogdanovic.
For Bennett, things get a little murkier. While the Nets have shown this summer they are willing to take flyers on guys with past injury issues, he is the first signing with major questions about his NBA career. Anthony has fallen far from his days as the number one overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. If he can prove his worth and produce at a pretty consistent level, providing energy and athleticism off the bench similar to what Thomas Robinson did for Brooklyn last year, then he could get some burn.
The only issue right now for Brooklyn is they’ve already signed Trevor Booker and veteran forward Luis Scola to deals, not to mention young stud Chris McCullough is already under contract. As easy as Bennett could play himself into the rotation he could also possibly see himself out of a job if things don’t go well.
