The Brooklyn Nets aren’t the worst team in the NBA. The New Orleans Pelicans, Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers are worse than them but the Nets are right on their coattails.
With this team struggling, as expected, the Brooklyn Nets should want to possibly start playing younger guys, maybe switch up the rotation and get other guys involved or even try to make a change somewhere to make the future better.
Instead, nothing has happened. They’re still keeping the same horrible rotation and it’s made one Nets player a little mad. Sergey Karasev, according to reports, wants out of Brooklyn.
In an interview with a big Russian sports publication, SovSport, Karasev’s father, says the Nets wingman wants to be traded and he even criticizes head coach Lionel Hollins and the organization, saying the team is in “total disarray.”

“It’s totally confusing,” said Vasily Karasev, once one of Russia’s best players and now coach of Zenit in the Russian basketball league. “Sergey is totally healthy. But the coach seems to be thinking something different: he said that he does not see Sergey as part of the team. Based on what I’ve seen personally – the team is in total disarray. If I went there myself – even that would be better. The team has no game.”
The senior Karasev said as a result, his son is talking about trades.
“Sergey is starting to discuss trade scenarios. He’s a young guy (22), he has to play. He feels that he’s fully rehabbed, that his health is good. So to sit on the bench for a whole year is just not acceptable,” said Vasily Karasev, according to a translation.
And Mike Mazzeo of ESPN has confirmed the report.
Sergey Karasev, who has played just six minutes all season, wants to be traded from the Nets, sources confirmed Thursday.
Sources say Karasev’s frustration over not playing has been building for a while now, especially given the team’s 2-10 record.
The Nets didn’t pick up Karasev’s team option for next season and that could be a source of some frustration from the Russian guard. Not to mention in 12 games this season Karasev has totaled six minutes played.
It might be time for Brooklyn to start making deals to get some future picks or young players.
