The Brooklyn Nets and Denver Nuggets faced off before the holidays, both trying to pick up a win before moving into Christmas. The Brooklyn Nets played without point-guard Deron Williams, and Jarret Jack started for them. It was a fairly even matchup with both teams going back and forth against each other, but Brooklyn went on a 9-0 run late in the end of the 4th quarter to finish off the Nuggets 102-96. Joe Johnson had 27 points and Mason Plumlee added 19 points and 13 rebounds. Ty Lawson had 29 points while Kenneth Faried pitched in with 20 points and 14 rebounds but the Nets held on to take the victory.
Analysis: Mason Plumlee has been suprisingly good for the Nets, ever since the game against the Toronto Raptors where he put up 20 & 10, he’s been consistently making an effort to get a 20 & 10 type of night. He is probably one of the only bright spots for the Brooklyn Nets, who have all been deemed trade bait for Billy King to deal to any team. First there was speculation that Deron Williams will become a Sacramento King, and now there is speculation that Brook Lopez may become a Charlotte Hornet. Whatever the case may be, the Brooklyn Nets need to find something to change or otherwise, they will struggle throughout the season.
