The great team over at SBNation’s ‘Nets Daily’ were in attendance at Brooklyn Nets training camp which is currently taking place at Duke University. The Nets are a weird team going into the 2015-16 season and they have a bunch of strange pieces and quite possibly none stranger than their owner, Mikhail Prokhorov.
The Russian Billionaire announced last week that he would be joining his team in Durham, North Carolina to be a special guest at the training camp. Well, I don’t think anyone was anticipating any of this special ‘tibetan martial arts training’ from Prokhorov, something he is apparently well trained in.
Mikhail took the floor and proceeded to showcase his apparent top-notch hand-eye coordination skills when he did a few tricks with different ball of all sizes. From tennis balls, to basketballs, Mikhail had everyone from Brook Lopez, to Jarrett Jack to Quincy Miller and even Rondae Hollis-Jefferson attempting to show off their stuff. Prokhorov explained the tricks he did with his team as a form of ‘tibetan martial arts’ training that he does, something he explained to the broadcast team from BrooklynNets.com.
Most failed, Lionel Hollins fell but most importantly, the guys appeared to have a great time with the man who calls the shots, Mikhail Prokhorov.
