With Kevin Garnett getting the night off, Mirza Teletovic stared in his place scoring 26 points while pulling down 15 rebounds in a Nets 95-93 win over the Spurs Wednesday night.
It was a rough night for San Antonio as they trailed for most of the game, even trailing by 15 at one point. The Spurs struggled from the field as well, shooting 35 of 101 from the field including 13 of 32 from three-point range.
After being down by two coming out of halftime, the Nets went on a 22-5 run to eventually take a double-digit lead.
The Nets would be in command for the entire third quarter, and most of the fourth quarter, leading 82-68 with five minutes left in regulation.
San Antonio wouldn’t go away though and fought back going on a run of their-own. Danny Green would lead the Spurs comeback, knocking down three three-pointers, including the game tying one with 2.4 seconds left to play in the midst of a 15-2 run. Brooklyn went on to out score the Spurs 7-5 in overtime to hold on for the victory.
Green would finish with 20 points and 10 rebounds but it wasn’t enough to help the Spurs extend their win streak to nine games.
Tony Parker, who sat out Monday’s game in Philadelphia, started but only played 2 ½ minutes after the third quarter.
Both teams are back in action on Friday and the Spurs go to Memphis to face the Grizzlies, while the Nets host the Hawks.
