
Mason Plumlee continued his stellar sophomore NBA season, dropping 22 points on Demarcus Cousins and the Sacramento Kings Monday night in a 107-99 win. Jarrett Jack also continued his strong play starting in place of Deron Williams as he finished with 16 points. Brook Lopez also chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds off the bench.
The Nets had an impressive second quarter, outscoring the Kings 30-17 and ending the final four minutes on an 11-0 run. The Nets controlled the majority of the third quarter, but the Kings would chip away at the lead and set themselves up for a chance at a comeback.
The Nets led by 10 with six minutes left in regulation until Rudy Gay scored five unanswered points in 26 seconds to bring the score within five. That’s as close as the Kings would cut the lead too as Mirza Teletovic hit two three-pointers, and the Nets made their free-throws late to secure their 14th win on the season.
Demarcus Cousins led the Kings with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Rudy Gay finished with 25 points and nine rebounds.
