The Brooklyn Nets are signing restricted free agent forward Donatas Motiejunas to an offer sheet, according to international reporter David Pick.
ESPN’s Marc Stein was first to report on the Nets’ interest in signing Motiejunas.
Motiejunas has yet to play this season, with Houston and his representatives struggling to find equal ground on a new deal. The Rockets were hoping to sign him to a contract last week, slightly raising their offer, but to no avail, Motiejunas is still seeking better terms.
In an injury-riddled 2015-’16 campaign, Motiejunas averaged 6.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 14.8 minutes per game in 37 total contests. He currently doesn’t have any injury issues, according to Pick.
Houston will have 72 hours to match the offer sheet.
