Fuller House has been renewed by Netflix for a second season. The 13-episode Full House reboot debuted on Netflix on Friday, February 26. Netflix doesn’t release ratings, but the show was trending on social media over the last week since the first season surfaced.
Fan and critic reactions to Fuller House have varied but the return of the Tanner Family has garnered enough initial attention to sustain. Some of that attention in the build-up for the reboot came from speculation about the Olsen twins possibly reprising their roles on the show, which they chose not to do. There’s a blatant jab at them by the cast in the first episode when they reference Michelle.
John Stamos, who tried to get the twins involved for the first season of the reboot, told the Today Show that he hopes they will re-consider for season two:
“They’re totally welcome. I was going to see Ashley last night and beg her to be on the show. We would love to have them. I know everyone would love to see them. I have a good feeling about it.”
All of the other cast members besides the Olsens have reprised their roles for Fuller House. Created by Jeff Franklin, the modern day spin-off focuses on a widowed D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) who is raising her three sons with help from her younger sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibler (Andrea Barber).
