It’s about that time where we start to get anxiety that summer is drawing to a close. You start freaking out because there is only one month left until kids are back in school, school buses are running wild and streets just get even busier. Not only that but the weather.. the weather sucks. So in order to take your mind off of that and keep you in summer mode, why not binge watch some more shows? August’s Netflix schedule makes it more than easy for you to sit at home and binge the summer away.
The Netflix Originals
Disenchantment
Misadventure awaits! Disenchantment, the new series from The Simpsons creator Matt Groening, premieres August 17. Groening has traveled to the future with Futurama, he’s dealt with the present in the Simpsons and now it’s time to take the world to the past. In this medieval fairytale-themed show, Disenchantment follows the story of a Queen who goes on a journey outside of her Kingdom to find herself. This will be a smash hit and Groening’s first collaboration with the streaming service.
Ozark (Season 2)
Jason Batemen returns to the hit Netflix thriller Ozark in its’ second season after the 1st season left us on a huge cliffhanger. From the trailer, it looks like the Bryde family will have to deal with all sorts of mischief and laundering business as new characters come into the fold. I don’t want to spoil too much for readers but if you haven’t watched this show, you have until August 31st to catch up.
The Good Place (Season 2)
The first season of The Good Place took us on a hilarious journey through hell. After learning that instead of arriving in Heaven, the cast are in a twisted version of Hell, they try to get out of it by tricking the angel who runs it ‘Michael’ (played by Ted Danson). In Season 2, the same hilarious cast will deal with their misery in funny and amusing ways as always and will debut on the streaming service August 28th.
Netflix Original Movie Of The Month
Ghoul
Sacred Games has blown the door right open for more Indian Netflix specials. With the success of the crime driven series, Netflix is extending their services to a scary movie. ‘Ghoul’ is from the makers of Insidious, Get Out and Udta Punjab – a chilling series about a prisoner who arrives at a remote military interrogation center and turns the tables on his interrogators, exposing their most shameful secrets. You can fight the demons of this world but what about the ones that aren’t? This will hit Netflix, August 24th.
