When a game comes down to the wire, teams usually look at their star to carry them into the promise land. It was no different when the Los Angeles Lakers came into Philadelphia to take on the Sixers. Nerlens Noel was leaned on late for the team, scoring a game-tying basket in overtime. Noel made a huge shot but he left too much time on the clock and the game was won by the Lakers, thanks to some heroics from Lakers rookie Jordan Clarkson.
It was after the game when Noel actually made his voice heard.
Per Tom Moore of Calkins Media, Philadelphia 76ers center Nerlens Noel said Monday night that Ish Smith is the only real point guard that he has ever played with.
#Sixers Noel: ‘Honestly, Ish is the first real point guard I’ve played with.’

Nerlens Noel may not have meant his comment in an offensive manner, but it can certainly be taken as a shot at the point guards on his team: Isaiah Canaan and Tony Wroten.
Even more so than Canaan or Wroten, this is a huge shot at Michael Carter-Williams, whom Noel played with not only in Philadelphia, but in AAU ball growing up. Carter-Williams even described the relationship between the two as “best friends.” That’s cold Nerlens, real cold.
