Cruz spent 2018 with the Seattle Mariners, he posted a .256/.342/.509 with 37 home runs and 97 RBI’s. He was also a 2018 American League All-star during the 2018 season. The strong suit of Cruz’s game is his offense, in fact, no player has hit more home runs in the last five years then he has. Cruz has mashed 203 home runs in the past five years.
Going into the season at the age of 38, Cruz is older than Twins manager Rocco Baldelli who his 37 years old. The Twins have added some other power hitting names this year, bringing in CJ Cron, Jonathan Schoop, and now Cruz. The Twins lack that offensive power and they hope that the names they brought in will help them boost their power threat.
