Canadian singer-songwriter, record producer and actress, Nelly Furtado has revealed the release date of her upcoming fifth studio album, “The Spirit Indestructible” which will be released on June 19th. “Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)” was co-written by Furtado and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, available via iTunes. A deluxe version of the album will feature several bonus tracks, including collaborations with Fraser T. Smith, Mike Angelakos and Kenyan Boys Choir that she produced herself. The Spirit Indestructible will be Furtado’s first English-language studio album since her double-platinum 2006 album “Loose,” certified multi-platinum in 32 countries, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and selling over 10 million copies.
Nelly Furtado co-wrote each song on her upcoming “The Spirit Indestructible,” working with many from across the musical spectrum, Salaam Remi, Rodney Jerkins, Bob Rock, Tiesto, John Shanks, and Da Genius.
“I began writing these songs around the time I released my Spanish album Mi Plan. I was in a great headspace, feeling refreshed and ready to really deliver in English again. This album is all about positivity, youth, good energy, and the relentlessness of the spirit. I want people to live this music the way we did when we wrote it. I want them to jump, dance, scream, laugh, cry, love, and vibe to it, and to turn it up very loud everywhere.” says Furtado.
