The NBA have really screwed the pooch when it comes to awards. Coach of the Year, in my opinion that was totally wrong but Budenzolzer was legitimate. Defensive Player of the Year? What a shambles, that’s where we see the BS.
Voters are leaving players out, most notably Draymond Green who, in my opinion, should’ve won the award. Voters are wasting votes on players that clearly won’t win the award. The most likely cause of this is because of local team bias can definitely see why the NBPA wants to have their own awards. And according to Howard Beck. The NBPA have already made up their own categories. And personally. I’m liking the road they’re going down.

Now personally. I think this is only a tester. Just to see how the players feel about it. I think once they do this a couple more times. They’ll introduce many more awards. Maybe “Best International Player”. “Team of the Year”. The possibilities are endless. At least there won’t be any local bias, it is an awards for the players, voted for by the players well played NBPA, this is a smart idea.
