Chris Bosh is still on the sidelines watching the Miami Heat in the NBA playoffs, but evidence suggests that he could just as easily be out on the floor.
Bosh has been undergoing blood thinner treatments for his reemerged blood clot which has kept him out of action since the All-Star break, but a recently confident Bosh, along with his wife, made a push to the Heat for the All-Star forward to make a return to the lineup during the playoffs. The Heat have not yet changed their stance that Bosh is out indefinitely, and now it’s looking like more of a potential issue between the parties.
The NBA Players Association has requested a meeting with the Miami Heat to help resolve the issue with Bosh, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN. Here was the NBPA statement:
“Our top priority is Chris’ health and well-being. We have spoken with Chris and his agent, and have reached out to the Miami Heat. We are hopeful that all parties involved can meet as soon as possible to resolve the situation.”
There are definitely players in the union that consider themselves personal friends of Chris Bosh, so they’ll want to take care of their own if there is an issue with this situation. One would think the Heat organization has Bosh’s best interests in mind as well, as the 32-year-old’s health has to be top priority. But if it looks like there is some kind of deeper motive at play keeping Bosh from returning to the court as soon as possible. I suspect that’s where the NBPA will be looking to establish some more clarity.
