It appears that R. Kelly’s run has finally come to an end. Since the premiere of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly documentary series, the world at large appears to have finally come to a consensus about the former R&B star. In the days following the television event, the Fulton County Police Department has furthered their investigation of Kelly, RCA has put a halt on his music and artists have distanced themselves from him. While nothing of legal consequence has happened to Kelly as of yet, it appears that the investigations from both the media and law enforcement are not slowing down anytime soon.
In a recent press release, NBC revealed that they would be dedicating a special episode of Dateline to the fallen R&B musician. Scheduled to air on Friday at 10 p.m., the episode will include interviews with a former R. Kelly intern, parents of women believed to be held captive by R. Kelly and many more. In addition, the episode will include an in-depth interview with R. Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg. As described by NBC, “Accused: The R. Kelly Story provides an in-depth look at the history of accusations against Kelly, which span over three decades, and why the story failed to make headlines until an explosive new documentary series propelled it into the limelight. ”
The full episode will air on Friday, January 18th at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
