NBA’s Best Dominate On Saturday

With only 6 games on a Saturday night, some of the NBA’s best teams showed up and showed out against their competition. Let’s check out the recap of the night’s games.

Philadelphia 76ers at Detroit Pistons. 76ers defeat Pistons 108-101 in overtime.

In what was the second worst matchup, record-wise, between 2 teams to this point in the season, the Pistons and Sixers sure played like it. Detroit had 0 field goals in the overtime, the only point came from a made free throw.

Michael Carter-Williams, for the fifth straight game, had a triple-double chance for the Sixers. He did finish with 20 points, 15 assists and 8 rebounds, he had a double-double, his fourth in the last 5 games. Robert Covington came off the bench to score 25 points and grab 6 rebounds. Hollis Thompson scored 13, including a big time three in the corner to send the game into overtime. Luc Richard Mbah A Moute scored 14 with 11 rebounds.

Josh Smith almost had a triple-double himself. He scored 23 points with 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Greg Monroe came off the bench to score 15 points and grab 9 rebounds. The Star of the show though was Kyle Singler. The former Duke Blue Devil had 21 points with 6 rebounds and led the charge for Detroit for a majority of the game.

The Pistons are now on an 11 game losing streak.

Philadelphia 76ers are 2-18. Detroit Pistons are 3-17.

Golden State Warriors at Chicago Bulls. NBA’s Best Warriors Beat Bulls 112-101.

Golden State Warriors continue to prove why they’re the leagues best team. They came into the windy city and defeated the Chicago Bulls. Draymond Green led the way for the Warriors with 31 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Klay Thompson had 24 points with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Stephen Curry had 19 points with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Marreese Speights had 11 points with with 6 rebounds off the bench. Jimmy Butler once again led the Bulls, he had 24 points with 4 rebounds. Pau Gasol had a huge 20-20 game, 22 points with 20 rebounds. Joakim Noah had 16 points with 5 rebounds. Off the bench, Taj Gibson had 12 points with 7 rebounds and Kirk Hinrich had 10 points. The Bulls problem was Derrick Rose, who only had 9 points on 2-11 shooting and 6 assists. Warriors currently have a franchise best, 12 game winning streak. Golden State Warriors are 17-2. Phoenix Suns at Houston Rockets. Rockets defeat Suns 100-95.

The Houston Rockets continue to roll without Dwight Howard. Trevor Ariza led the Rockets with 19 points with 7 rebounds, Patrick Beverley also had 19 points and 6 rebounds coming off the bench in his first game back for the Rockets. Dontanas Moniejunas had 16 points and 11 rebounds. James Harden scored 15, grabbed 12 rebounds and handed out 7 assists. Jason Terry scored 13 and moved up to third all-time on the three pointers made list.

Eric Bledsoe scored 23 with his back-court partner Goran Dragic scoring 13 with 6 assists. P.J. Tucker scored 15 with 8 rebounds starting for the Suns over Marcus Morris. Gerald Green had 16 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.

Phoenix Suns are 12-9. Houston Rockets are 16-4.

Minnesota Timberwolves at San Antonio Spurs. Spurs defeat 123-101.

No Parker and Ginobili? No Problem for the Spurs as their role players stepped up once again. All 5 starters scored in double figures lead by Kawhi Leonard and Cory Joseph who scored 18 each. Tim Duncan scored 13 points with with 10 rebounds, and Matt Bonner had 10 points. Danny Green had 11 points with 8 rebounds. Marco Belinelli came off the bench to score 20 points with 6 assists.

Rookie Zach LaVine had a 22 point, 10 assist night to lead the Wolves. Thaddeus Young had 14 points, Shabazz Muhammad came off the bench to score 20 and Anthony Bennett had 14 points with 10 rebounds on the night.

Minnesota Timberwolves are 4-15. San Antonio Spurs are 15-5.

Orlando Magic at Sacramento Kings. Magic beat Kings 105-96.

Without DeMarcus Cousins for the Kings, the Orlando Magic exploited the play in the paint. Tobias Harris led the Magic with 27 points, Victor Oladipo had 16 points with 7 assists and Evan Fournier had 15 points and 6 rebounds. Kyle O’Quinn scored 13 points and Ben Gordon came off the bench to score 11 points.

Darren Collison led the Kings with 22 points, Jason Thompson had 18 points with 9 rebounds and Rudy Gay had 16 points and 6 assists. Derrick Williams came off the bench to score 14 points and Ramon Sessions joined him off the bench, scoring 10. Orlando Magic are 9-14. Sacramento Kings are 10-10. Full Game Highlights

New Orleans Pelicans at Los Angeles Clippers. Clippers defeat Kings 120-100.

Los Angeles Clippers 7th straight win came at the expense of Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans. Blake Griffin had 30 points with 7 rebounds, J.J. Redick scored 22 and Chris Paul had 18 points with 16 assists. Matt Barnes scored 14 points and Jamal Crawford came off the bench to score 20 points for the Clippers.

Anthony Davis once again led the Pelicans with 26 points, Tyreke Evans had 13 points and Luke Babbitt had 12 points. Omer Asik contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Anderson scored 16 off the bench.

New Orleans Pelicans are 8-10. Los Angeles Clippers are 14-5.
