A simulation of the 2015-16 NBA season was done on NBA 2K16, and the outcome was the Golden State Warriors repeating after a Finals rematch with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The simulation has the Warriors beating the Cavs in seven games.
The simulation also has Kevin Durant winning his second MVP award after averaging over 30 points per game, and has the Warriors finishing second to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference. But, it has the Thunder losing to the fourth-seeded Spurs in the conference semifinals, leading to aWarriors/Spurs conference finals. The simulation has the Cavs beating the Bulls in five games to win the Eastern Conference.
NBA 2K16’s simulation last season was spot on — it had the Warriors beating the Cavs in six games in the Finals. This past June, the Cavs won two out of the first three games before the Warriors rallied back to win the series in six games. The Cavs were short-handed with major injuries. Seeing a rematch with both sides at full strength sounds only fitting. Cavs and Warriors fans alike would likely welcome the challenge.
Imagine if LeBron does have to face the Warriors again? He had to face the Spurs in consecutive Finals in 2013 and 2014. That time around he won the first time and lost the second.
