When the full league schedule comes out, people look for different things. Who their team is facing. What’s the Christmas Day schedule? When are you facing your rival?
Mine? What I look for is when are the players on new teams facing their old teams?
I’m a sucker for grudge matches. Sure some players don’t make it fun like Paul Pierce but there are a few tasty games out there.
November 19th – Jason Kidd faces Brooklyn
Sure Kidd isn’t playing against them but it’ll be great if Kidd out coaches Lionel Hollins. That would be a classic “1-up”.
November 19th – Lance Stephenson returns to Indiana
In a sudden move to Charlotte and celebrating in “Stephenson-esqe” fashion. Lance will go back to Indiana to face a Pacers squad that has gone from the best in the East, to a possible lottery team.
November 22nd – Chandler Parsons rolls into Houston
If you live in Texas or support one of those teams. You got to love this game. Chandler Parsons moved to Dallas after being disrespected by Houston and will be back with a chip on his shoulder and with a revitalised Dirk behind him. Watch out Houston.
January 31st – Love comes back to the Twin Cities
With the video of the Minnesota fan that just couldn’t burn Love’s jersey. I wouldn’t be surprised if they clap him onto the court. Whether that happens or not this would be a fun game with a great storyline.
December 26th – Isaiah Thomas goes back to SAC with intention to “kill”
I love this story. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Sacramento dropped the ball on this one. They should not have let Thomas stroll out and that will be to their detriment. Sick ’em Isaiah!
January 17th – “The Truth” Goes Back to Brooklyn
This is not the juiciest game ever but it’s still a return. Realise that Paul Pierce and KG will face each other. That’s like “Peyton vs Eli” to me. They’re brothers and you know that.
January 29th – Pau Comes Back to Staples
As we know, Pau Gasol will welcome Kobe and the Lakers on Christmas Day. Which is a good prequel to the real return. Pau will be at Staples Center in the Black & Red of Chicago after years of trade talk and being the whipping boy in D’Antoni’s flaky offence.
