So the Los Angeles Clippers got a tad angry during their demolishing at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers the other night.
Technical fouls were being doled out to them as if they were Oliver Twist singing “Techs! Glorious Techs!” instead of “Food! Glorious Food!”
Of course they didn’t want them but they got them and leader of the Clips Chris Paul wasn’t happy about it.
Well Chris Paul has spoke his mind today and now the NBA Referees are hitting back. According to ProBasketballTalk the Referees Association have backed their Rookie ref Lauren Holtkamp and her decision to give out Technical fouls as if she was Floyd Mayweather making it rain.
The night after Clippers point guard Chris Paul questioned if rookie referee Lauren Holtkamp was cut out for the NBA, NBRA General Counsel Lee Seham said his association reviewed the calls and “deems them fully justified.”
“The NBRA deplores the personal and unprofessional comments made by Chris Paul. She belongs,” Seham said in a released statement.
Paul was frustrated after the Clippers were blown out by the Cavaliers on national television Thursday night, and in that game the Clippers picked up five technical fouls.
Now. I don’t want to accuse Chris Paul of gender discrimination. He clearly didn’t mean it like that and if you think that. Slap yourself. It’s Chris Paul. He’s one of the most grounded players in the league. Wife, kids, basketball. That’s CP3.
Can we please not blow this out of proportion?
