The NBA have really put time into their play-by-play reports. I mean players have tape, statistics on all their games. Why not have a little report on all the NBA Referees and seeing how they perform right? This is a good thing. Seeing if the refs are up to snuff.
Well now the NBA are getting that little bit more accessible. Publishing the play-by-play reports, but with the NBA Referees names as well.
The NBA will include referee names in its official play-by-play feeds alongside all calls reported to the table starting with the playoffs.
The league said Friday the calls will include fouls, technical fouls and all violations, such as goaltending, lane violations and 3-second violations.
The league also opened a replay center this season, which it says reduced the average time of reviews to 42 seconds. There were 1,596 replays that were upheld or overturned, with 80.8 percent being upheld.
80% is a decent number. But another 20% will be just aces. The NBA Playoffs are kicking off today. So if you see a call that you think is wrong. You’ll know which ref blew the whistle. But don’t be one of those people that character assassinate just because they blew the whistle that wasn’t in your best interests.
