Without hesitation, I assume you missed the New York Knicks hosting the Los Angeles Lakers game that happened on Super Bowl Sunday due partly to ESPN removing the game from showing on their station.
Not to mention the ‘down on their luck’ and Eastern Conference bottom-feeding Knicks faced off against the even more ‘down on their luck’ and Western Conference bottom-feeding Lakers.
In the waning moments of the Knicks second double digit victory and first wire-to-wire victory of the season, the game came to a screeching halt when there was an object on the court, spotted by Lakers point guard, Jeremy Lin.
As it turns out, the object was a shirt that was thrown on the court by a fan. The shirts that the cheerleaders shoot out of cannons, ended up back on the court and stopped play for a minute.
The referees stopped the game and one of the Refs, Mike Callahan, walked over, picked up the shirt and decided to turn and give it to a young Knicks fan, dressed in an Amar’e Stoudemire jersey.
The kid was smiling from ear to ear and you can tell, it just made his day.
