The NBA Draft is full of decent talent. I am only using the word ‘decent’ because I don’t want to immediately crown anybody. Sure there are some players that’s got skills but there are just as many busts than success stories, which is why I hate the one and done.
Stanley Johnson has been a beast since high school, winning several State Championships. Then at Arizona he truly made himself heard to the national audience, getting comparisons to Paul George and Jimmy Butler. And now Johnson is currently participating in the Draft Combine, further confirming how much of a potential tank he could be. But as we all know, the combine isn’t everything.
But it is now clear that Johnson is gaining confidence in his self. Which is fine, but saying that you’re the best player in the Draft is giving yourself a bar that people have famously given themselves and have infamously fallen on their faces.
Stanley Johnson: “I can score from all 3 levels… and I’m a nasty competitor.”

Stanley Johnson says he thinks he will shoot about the same at NBA 3-point line as he did in college. Has practiced for a year at NBA line.

Final one on Stanley Johnson: sees himself as a 2, but thinks he can defend other positions.

Now I like Johnson. He’s got a good build, he’s a decent shooter and personally I have him top 10, but not number 1. I can’t do that just yet and maybe he is the best prospect. We obviously can’t make that judgment yet, but I can’t wait to see him try.
