With less than a week to go, players are using their last few preseason games to get some last minute tune ups to get ready for the brand new season.
Utah Jazz 84 Los Angeles Lakers 108 Derrick Favors has really upheld his new deal with the Jazz. 10 points and 13 rebounds. But it wasn’t enough due to the Laker bench taking advantage of more minutes. Jordan Farmar with the game high 20 points. And Xavier Henry’s posterising dunk sealed the deal.
OKC 76 Phoenix Suns 88 Sure they lost without Durant playing but Reggie Jackson again did well for the Thunder. But it wasn’t enough for OKC as Phoenix take the win. I said a month or so ago if they want to get into the Playoffs their big men have to put in work. Can’t rely on Bledsoe and Dragic all the time.
This excludes Gerald Green who is a dunking master.
Oh you know we got more GG.
Orlando Magic 103 San Antonio Spurs 123 Patty Mills is so underrated. What’s annoying is that he barely gets minutes and I really don’t know why. He scored 22 points in 23 minutes. At least he makes the most of it. I won’t argue with coach Popovich. On a Orlando note Oladipo is looking very consistent and that’s unnerving me since I picked Ben McLemore to be Rookie Of The Year…
Washington Wizards 96 Detroit Pistons 99 This is interesting considering these teams face each other on the first day of their regular seasons in the Palace. This could easily have been a blowout. Detroit were up by 20 in the 3rd quarter. But Washington fought back. Shame they couldn’t get over the hump. Would’ve been a good comeback. Greg Monroe get 18 points and Andre Drummond grabs 14 rebounds. Them two are a force to be reckoned with. And with J Smoove (who was rested in this game), Stuckey and Jennings coming back. It’ll be something to watch.
Indiana Pacers 107 Atlanta Hawks 89 Strong performance by the Pacers. David West again… Called upon and delivers, 24 points and Luis Scola adds on to it with 20. It’s sad to say but Atlanta are looking like a sinking ship. Other than Al Horford, who do they have? Jeff Teague Isn’t improving as fast as the other guards, Brand is (lets face it) old and Korver, yes he can shoot but that’s pretty much it. It will be a hard road for them to get to the Playoffs.
A whopping 11 games on tonight. Lets call it an appetiser to the main course (Regular Season).
